Quote of the week!

Every week I plan to post a quote(s) that inspire me throughout the week.

This week's comes from my amazing cousin that just returned from an LDS mission. He told us some really encouraging things. My favorite quote was:

"Trials are mandatory. Misery is optional"

I completely agree with this statement! It is guaranteed we will have hard times and our hearts broken, but it is up to us to let it get the best of us or to make us stronger. After hearing this, I feel like I've taken it upon me to be more positive even when I'm having the worst days and I hope you will too!!

Being A Level. . . 4!!!

I never in a million years thought I would be a "blogger." I'm not going to lie, I'm having quite a hard time figuring out all of the gadgets and such, so if any of you have any ideas for me, feel free to tell me!! I'm thoroughly excited to get started though!

When deciding what to blog about, I couldn't decide what I'm truly passionate about until I talked to my mom on the phone. I realized I'm a complete sucker for life changing quotes and life lessons. My mom was a substitute when I was in high school, and my friends always loved when she subbed because she always had something to tell them in hope to change their lives. So here goes my very first life lesson, and particularly my favorite. . .

In our lives we should strive to become level 4's. What is this? Well let me give you an example:
LEVEL 1- Say there is no toilet paper. All you do is yell at your mom and tell her there is no toilet paper. All you are able to do is identify problems and that's it. In other words, you're hopeless.
LEVEL 2- Now when you see there is no toilet paper and you tell your mom, you ask her where it is and you'll put it on yourself. You can fix the problem, sure! However, you need another's help to do it.
LEVEL 3- This time when there is no toilet paper, you find it and fix the problem yourself, but you are so proud of yourself that you run to your mom and tell her what a good job you did. You can identify problems and fix them yourselves but you need that pat on the back after all the hard work.
LEVEL 4- No toilet paper?? No big deal! You fix it! You can identify problems, fix them, and move on with life, no problem!!

Well, there is it! My first life lesson!! Hopefully you all can strive to level 4's in all you do :)
